Website terms and conditions

Why is this information important?

These are the terms and conditions that apply when you use this website.

By using this website, you agree to comply with these terms and conditions. If you don’t agree with these terms and conditions, please don’t use this website.

You can find more information on our FAQs or, if you need anything else, please contact us here.

Who are we?

We are Universal Meridian Ecommerce Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales at 11 – 12 St. James's Square, London, SW1Y 4LB, United Kingdom under registration number 12306116. RB UK Commercial Ltd (a company registered in England and Wales at 103-105 Bath Road, Slough, SL1 3UH, United Kingdom under registration number 08784077) has appointed us as its official selling agent on this website.

Our website

Shopify Inc. hosts our website, but any purchase you make on our website is between you and us (Universal Meridian Ecommerce Ltd). Shopify provides us with the online platform that allows us to sell these products directly to you, but we own and are responsible for these products.

When you purchase from our website, we process your order and one of our third-party partners arranges delivery to you.

About you

To shop on our website, you must:

  • be at least 18 years old (or have your parent or guardian’s permission to use our website if not);
  • have a credit or debit card that we accept; and
  • be authorised to use that credit or debit card.

Assuming that’s all good, go ahead!

Ordering products from our website

Placing an order

When you place an order through our website, you will receive an email confirming your order.

We will then check there’s enough money on your payment card. We will accept your order once payment has been approved and we have debited the payment card. If you receive an error when trying to pay for your order, please contact us here.

The prices on our website include VAT (where applicable) but do not include delivery charges.

If you change your mind about your order, please contact us here as soon as possible and we will cancel the order if we can. If your order has progressed beyond the stage at which we may cancel it, you will need to return it to us for a refund using the process described in section [6].

Before you finalise your order, you will have various delivery options to choose from with estimated delivery dates depending on your location.

We work really hard trying to ensure that all estimated delivery dates are met, but sometimes there may be delays beyond our (or our third-party partners’) control. We will do our best to keep you updated and ensure you can track your delivery’s progress and latest estimated delivery date.

If you have any questions about delivery of your order, please contact us here.

Returns and refunds

Unwanted products

Sometimes you might change your mind about a purchase, or a product just doesn’t do it for you – we get it.

You can return anything you’ve purchased from our website to us for a refund within 14 days of receiving it, as long as it’s unused and still in its original packaging (subject to the rules below). If a product is faulty (rather than just unwanted), please follow the process here.

To return an unwanted product that is unused and still in its original packaging, please contact us here. We promise to get back to you ASAP providing details on how to return the product.

We aim to refund you within two weeks of receiving the item back from you.

If you return a product to us later than 14 days from when you received the product, we may have to send it back to you and ask you to cover the delivery costs.

This doesn’t affect any other rights you may have under UK law.

When returning an unwanted product to us, postage costs are on you and won’t be included in the refunded amount.

We strongly recommend that you get proof of postage when returning a product to us (it’s free at the Post Office).

Unused products in their original packaging

We’re big on hygiene. Please don’t return any product to us that you’ve used (not cool 😠).

Any returned product should be unused and in its original packaging.

We inspect all products on their return to us and we may send a product back to you (and ask you to cover the delivery costs) if you return something to us that isn’t unused and in its original packaging.

Free gifts

If your product came with a free gift or complimentary item, please return this as well. Don’t be cheeky.

Faulty products

At Durex, we stand behind the quality of our products and therefore faulty products are rare.

However, on the rare occasion where you do receive a faulty product, please tell us (attaching photos if possible) by contacting us here. We promise to get back to you ASAP.

If the product is faulty you may choose for us to replace the product (we will cover postage costs) or refund you the cost of the product (plus postage costs).

Please do not dispose of a faulty product as we may ask you to return it to us (at our expense).

How you can contact us (questions, feedback and complaints)

We love hearing from you and we value all feedback – positive or negative.

If you have any questions, feedback or complaints about your experience with our website or any products you’ve purchased from our website, please contact us here.

Your use of our website

We’re sure you won’t, but you must not misuse or interfere with our website. We will take action against troublemakers (we still have lawyers, after all).

When you use our website, we ask the following from you:

  • don’t use our website to encourage or facilitate activity that is criminal, fraudulent, unlawful or otherwise not permitted under these terms and conditions;
  • don’t advertise or otherwise promote any third party or your own products or services (this includes, but isn’t limited to, sending “spam” emails);
  • don’t attempt to transfer viruses, trojans or other malicious code onto, or otherwise attempt to harm, our website;
  • only provide a link to our website in a way that is non-commercial, fair and legal. Please don’t do so in any way that damages our reputation or suggests any approval from us where none exists;
  • don’t attempt to gain unauthorised access to any user data associated with our website or otherwise attempt to penetrate or circumvent the security measures on our website;
  • don’t interfere with any other person’s access to, or use of, our website;
  • don’t use any automated systems or software to take data from our website (“screen scraping”) and
  • only use our website for your personal use.

(Now for the boring legalese…) if a third party brings a claim against us (or our directors, employees, agents or affiliates), or we suffer any damages or incur any expenses (including legal fees), as a result of your use of our website (e.g. if you breach these terms and conditions, break an applicable law or infringe the rights of any third party), you will indemnify, defend and hold us harmless from and against the damages or expenses we incur.

Your use of our website is at your own risk and responsibility. You should make sure that you have sufficient protection against viruses and malware on any device that you use to access our website.

If we believe that you have misused our website or not complied with these terms and conditions, we may restrict your use of our website. If this happens to you and you think we’ve made a mistake, please contact us here.

A link to a third-party website on our website doesn’t mean we endorse the content of that website or its owners.

User-uploaded content

When using our website, there may be opportunities for you to submit information, text, photos, graphics or other content to us.

If you submit content to us:

  • you confirm that we can use it at our discretion. This includes (but isn’t limited to) editing, copying, reproducing, disclosing, posting or removing it as we choose;

  • the content is 100% original (i.e. created by you) or, where it’s not, you have the permission of the person who created the content to submit it to us.

If any of the above aren’t correct, you may be required to compensate us for any losses or damage we suffer.

Our website may include information and material uploaded by other users. This information and material may not have been checked or approved by us and may not represent our views or values.

Our liability to you

Our website

As you’d expect, we do our best to ensure our website is always available. However, sometimes circumstances conspire against us and we can’t guarantee this. We may also take our website offline at our discretion for business or operational reasons (e.g. system failure or maintenance).

Our relationship with you

We won’t be liable to you for any loss or damage you suffer as a result of using this website and the products sold on it (whether arising in contract, tort or otherwise and even if reasonably foreseeable).

However, nothing in these terms and conditions shall limit our liability to you where it would be unlawful to do so (e.g. for personal injury caused by our negligence) or restrict your statutory rights.

Intellectual property and copyright

We own, or have permission to use, all intellectual property rights in this website and its content. We protect these rights globally and all such rights are reserved.

You may download and print content on our website for your own personal use, but please don’t use any part of our website for commercial purposes without our written permission.

We believe in protecting your privacy and will only use your personal information in accordance with applicable data protection rules.

Please read our Privacy Policy (available here) and our Cookie Policy (available here) for further information. The Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy form part of these terms and conditions.

These terms and conditions

Sometimes we may offer products, services or promotions in conjunction with third parties supplemented by additional terms and conditions. Any delay in us enforcing a provision of these terms and conditions is not a waiver of our right to do so later.

In the event of a dispute between us (arising in connection with these terms and conditions or otherwise), English law and the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts shall apply.
